Innovation, resilience—and a touch of neon pink Lycra.
More than 150 delegates came together in Auckland for the 2025 Plastics NZ Conference hosted by Auckland Branch, exploring the theme of Innovation & Resilience through bold ideas, big conversations, and plenty of laughter.

From insightful keynotes to feathered showgirls, this year’s conference struck a balance between professional development and connection—proving once again that our industry thrives when we come together.

“A genuine upskill and real value in learning what speakers had to say. Plus, I learned how to use a microwave. Kinda handy!”

  • Friday opened with Tony Alexander doing what he does best—offering serious insights with a side of wit—before the AGM, where we welcomed several new National Executive members (full list here) and said thanks to those stepping down.
  • The morning continued with Terry Mischefski reflecting on 100 years of Kiwi innovation, followed by a dynamic Innovation & Design panel featuring Ian Milligan, Tim Green, and Logan Williams.
  • We closed on a high with Dr Michelle Dickinson, whose energetic keynote had us thinking deeply and laughing loudly (ask anyone about microwaves and adult nappies).
