As 2024 draws to a close, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on the great work our industry has achieved together over the last year. It’s been another challenging one for many, but also one filled with progress and resilience.

At Plastics NZ, we’ve been proud to support you – our members – every step of the way. From advancing our environmental initiatives and progressing the transition to a circular plastics economy, to making submissions on your behalf, and facilitating vital sector and working groups, our focus remains firmly on helping your businesses succeed while leading our industry towards a more sustainable future.

None of this would be possible without the collective effort and collaboration of our members. Thank you for your commitment, input and engagement throughout 2024. It has been an honour to represent and support such a dedicated and forward-thinking industry.

As we head into the holiday season, I hope you find the time to recharge, celebrate with loved ones, and reflect on your successes this year. For us at Plastics NZ, the season is a chance to relax (and perhaps, just for a short while, stop talking about plastics and recycling with our friends and families!).

Here’s what we’ll be up to during the break:

  • Embracing those glorious holiday naps and savouring the lack of morning alarms.
  • Hoping for sunny days, with just enough rain at night to keep our gardens thriving.
  • Enjoying festive feasts (while promising not to overindulge … too much).
  • And most importantly, gearing up for an exciting and impactful 2025!

Our office will be closed from Friday, 20th December 2024 and will reopen on Monday, 20th January 2025. We’ll be ready and energised to continue supporting you in the year ahead.

Wishing you and your families a joyful and safe holiday season. Thank you for all you do. We can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together in 2025.

Warmest regards and Meri Kirihimete!
