Join fellow members of the New Zealand plastics industry, hosted by the Auckland Branch, for a great day on the water filled with fishing, networking, and friendly competition.

This event is open to all Plastics NZ members across the country. A limited number of boats will be available for those who need a vessel, so registering early is essential.

When:                 Friday 13th March 2026 - Fishing Tournament  

Where:               Bucklands Beach Yacht Club
                              Ara Tai Drive, Half Moon Bay, Auckland 

Cost:                   $70/ Angler (Limited Tickets available)                              

Start time:         5am onwards (boat captains must radio in as they exit their marina and confirm POB)

Finish Time:      All anglers to be back at BBYC by 4.30pm

Prize Giving:      Between 4.30 - 6.00pm in the Percy Jones Lounge
                                (some food & drinks to be provided courtesy of Auckland Branch)

Competition Rules:

The 2026 Fishing Competition is a catch and release competition where anglers are required to photograph their catch and send their entries to the committee through whatstapp.

• Anglers are to include their full name and the name of their boat with their photos, along with the time the fish was caught.
• Photos to be submitted to Whatsapp (Number TBC).
• 1 fish per category, per angler.
• All photos will be reviewed by the panel and the winning fish in each category will be awarded a prize at the prize giving.
• All registered anglers names will go into a draw for spot prizes.
• Each angler will be required to complete a form and have read the 2026 Fishing Competition Terms and Conditions.

Boat Captains:

• Parking is available for cars and trailers at the boat ramp to the left of the yacht club.
• Each boat captain will receive a briefing bag including a measuring mat, the bags can be collected on the morning of the competition from BBYC or couriered if the boat is leaving from another marina.
• The fishing area will be confirmed on the 12^th March and emailed to the boat or team captain.
