Recycling Week is Coming!

19th - 25th October 2026

♻️ Recycling Week is coming — and we’re celebrating the people making plastics circularity happen in Aotearoa!

Across New Zealand, Plastics NZ members are making a difference through innovation, redesign, recovery, recycling and smarter ways to keep plastics in use.

This Recycling Week, we’ll be sharing our members’ stories to showcase the projects, people and practical solutions helping drive plastics circularity forward. From new approaches to design and reprocessing to initiatives tackling plastic waste, we’ll highlight the progress being made across our industry and inspire others to do the same.

But first, we’re counting down to Recycling Week! ♻️

Over the two weeks leading up to the event, we’ve been resharing our Waste-Ed with Kate video series, created in partnership with Plastics NZ on social media. These videos explore what belongs in your kerbside recycling bin, how plastics are collected and reprocessed, and what happens to recyclable materials after they leave your home.

Because recycling is about more than what goes in the bin — it’s about the people, processes and innovation that give materials a new life.

Follow Plastics NZ on social media, share our posts and help spread the word as we celebrate the people and projects making a difference this Recycling Week. The more we share these stories, the more we can inspire others to take action! ♻️
