2026 Auckland Branch Technical Event - NZ Steel Tour
Steel yourself for the next Auckland Branch Tech Event
Join the Auckland Branch at 9.00am on Friday 23rd October, for a behind the scenes look at New Zealand Steel's operations. New Zealand Steel is the country’s leading steel manufacturer, producing around 650,000–670,000 tonnes of steel annually at its Glenbrook Steel Mill using locally sourced iron sands.
The visit will include a presentation on the New Zealand Steel operation followed by a guided site tour covering:
Steel Making Plant / Casters
Hot & Cold Rolling Mills
Metal Coating Line
Paint Line

Time: 9.00am - 1:00pm
(4 hours - attendees must be present for the entirety of the event)
Location: New Zealand Steel, 131 Mission Bush Road, Glenbrook, Auckland
Cost : FREE - Members Only event
Numbers Strictly Limited to 20 (Maximum 2 people per company)
First in, First Served.
A wait list will be comprised once the event fills.
Strict Health & Safety Rules apply:
Attendees must be of reasonable health & fitness levels to attend this event
Clothing to wear:
Full-length- trousers
Long sleeved shirt
Sturdy Closed Flat Shoes
No Hoodies, caps or beanies
All other PPE will be provided by NZ Steel
New Zealand Steel is a 24/7 operational site; the safety of visitors and employees is their top priority. There may be unforeseen changes in their operational areas which could restrict access for tours. The final decision on what is included on the tour will be made by your host and their tour guides team on the day.
